Great thanks for links. It looks like I shouldn't have any problems with this set up.

Thanks. Would it be better if I put 125 on one side of the construction, so it sits on vertical legs? I'm going to make construction like in Ted's Judy video here:

I can also use 2x6 (at least on the back).

Properly constructed and braced - yes. Make sure you don't have nails or screws supporting the weight. You need vertical / ene-to end direclle under the weight because wood doesn't compress. But it does bend / warp - In your design, you could get warping of the top 2 X 4s running lengthways under your tank if the legs aren't directly under the tank corners. By all means, turn the 2X4 sideways. Maybe run support braces diagonally from the legs to directly under the tank. They could be metal or even a 1X12 cut into a triangle - but they have to be placed so the weight is pressing them in place where they have no where to go.

WARNING: I sold 2 135s to a guy who had some 17 year-olds build stands unsupervised. He says it cost him $10,000 to clean it all up and replace the floors and drywall (second floor installation). I really wish I had those Oceanic tanks back, too. They did not survive the crash. I had had them on a homemade wood stand - no problem.

Hi all. I need to make stands for 3 tanks: 1 - 125 gl and 2 - 75 gl. I planned to put 2x75 gl on the bottom so total length will be 106"x18" and 125 gl on top of this (on the center). I could fit 2 other small tanks on sides. Is 2x4 construction strong enough or this would not work at all? Any suggestions?
