Congratulations.

I used to get eggs from my pair several times but never got one fry. Getting fry is no small feat!

Yes - Thank You Jason,
After months and months of water chemistry experiments, and with help from Jerzy ( who provided me all those Alder cones ) I finally got some fry from my Ivanacara adoketa pair.

So I say to her……There is plenty of stuff at the house for the baby to eat!!!! I REALLY need this fish……

Thanks. I may have to separate them. This would actually be my 15th species of Geophagus to spawn but the first time I have had such difficulty getting a good spawn.

With my geophagus I had to remove the other pairs as they parents were unable to defend the eggs from the other geophagus. The tapajos almost seemed to have a high desire to eat the eggs of the other pairs.

Recently traded most of my mbuna breeding groups for mostly dwarf cichlids and many are still young so that has a lot of breeding stalled. The one species though that I have had 9 months now and am working on are nanochromis transvestitus. Seen a lot of mating signs but no eggs yet. Could be I still need to get the water even softer or maybe they are well hidden and the microsynodontis are getting them lol.

There are two species that have been giving me trouble.

Acarichthys heckelli. I get a pair that act like they are going to spawn but I never see any eggs. I built a special deep and vertical pipe for them to breed in too.

Geophagus brokopondo. I have 6 in a 125 and they behave like they are three pairs. I get eggs occasionally but they are gone a day or two later.

I have always thought they were such a beautiful fish no suggestions on those. How big are they, get them breeding so we can bid on your bap bags.
