Gold Oreochromis Esculentus?

6 years 2 months ago #32701 by Nuchal Man
Hi Jim,

Those must be fish from the ones we bred at least 4-5 years back. glad to see you are still working with them as they are an endangered species.

I've never heard of this species throwing gold morphs, but the Oreochromis mossambicus do, so it would make sense that it is possible. It is probably a xanthic fish. I think you should grow it up, I'd be interested to see what it turns out to be. Would also love to see photos of the parents.

I have a confession. I'm a cichlaholic.

My recent spawn from from these Ti

lapia produced some gold babies 7. Has anyone else had this happen to them or could this be a new morph? These
adults have spawned before ,but no gold ones. These are the fish Rick Borstein gave the club for the "grow out contest"
